Leeds city centre restaurant Anthony’s on the move

HERALDED: Anthonys, which was a trailblazer in Leeds.

Anthony’s Restaurant - which was a trailblazer in Leeds and put the city on the nation’s culinary map - is to move.

The restaurant opened in 2004 on Boar Lane and was heralded by critics - including Jay Raynor - for chef Anthony Flinn’s innovative dishes.

In 2005, the firm opened Anthony’s at Flannels, in 2006 Anthony’s Patisserie in The Victoria Quarter and then in 2008 Piazza by Anthony in the Leeds Corn Exchange.

It has developed to become the business’s focus with a dedicated bakery, chocolate shop, patisserie and cheese room.

And on April 9, Flinn will move his flagship restaurant to the Corn Exchange.

The main kitchen at the Piazza will be remodelled to allow space for both the teams from Anthony’s and The Piazza to work side by side.

Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: “This is an exciting development for Leeds, bringing Anthony Flinn’s flagship dining experiences under one roof in the city center’s Corn Exchange. Visitors can now enjoy a range of dining experiences - and where better than in that stunning setting.”
