Soon-to-be brides can glimpse the latest gowns and raise money for charity with a fundraising catwalk show in Otley.
The Bridal Gown, of Otley, has organised an afternoon of bridal fun in aid of the Children’s Heart Surgery Unit in Leeds.
A catwalk show will be held at the All Saints’ Parish Church in Otley to showcase a preview of their 2014 collection as well as boost the charity’s coffers.
There will be the opportunity to meet hair and make-up stylists, florists and photographers and see the stunning gowns in the show.
The event takes place on Saturday, October 12, with a drinks reception at 3.30pm. The catwalk will begin at 4pm.
Tickets for the show cost £8 and all the proceeds from ticket sales will go to the fund. Julie Woollard, owner of The Bridal Gown, said: “We wanted to support a local charity and my godson was treated there too, so it was a bit of a personal thing as well as we wanting to support them.
“It will be very relaxed. We’ll have over 20 dresses on the catwalk and guests will have the chance to see the people who have done the make up, rather than just looking at photos.”
Claire Priestwood, community fundraiser for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund, said: “We were delighted to hear from The Bridal Gown and we are very grateful for their support.
“The Bridal Catwalk Show has lots of different things to offer and there is even the opportunity to win a Miranda Templeton tiara, Rachel Simpson bridal shoes and £100 voucher to spend on accessories, which is a fabulous opportunity.
“The money raised from the event will allow us to provide more help and support to families across Yorkshire, Humber and North Lincolnshire area.” The Children’s Heart Surgery Fund was set up in 1988 and provides revolutionary equipment and resources while financially supporting research projects, clinical training and development in congenital heart defects.
It is based at Leeds General Infirmary, the charity provides a support service for children and their families from region, aiming to provide each child a childhood.
