The third man aged 33 was released without charge.

Later a 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The Primera is believed to have been travelling with a Nissan Micra car at the time of the crash having entered Bradford city centre on Thornton Road and heading towards Leeds Road.

The car is thought to have crossed the oncoming city centre bound lane and hit the lamp-post where the road has been reduced to just two lanes alongside the major city redevelopment site.

Anyone who saw either of the vehicles being driven or the collision - or the driver of small red hatchback car who is believed to have seen the vehicles prior to the collision - is asked to contact Det Sgt Craig Lord at Bradford South CID on 0845 60 60 606.
