Armed robbers fled with cash after targeting a Leeds betting shop.

Two men wielding a kitchen knife and a hammer threatened three staff at William Hill on Street Lane in Roundhay at about 6.45pm last night (March 4) before escaping with money.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Fortunately no-one was injured in the robbery but the staff members have been left shaken by the incident.”

One of the men was white, heavily built and around 6ft tall. The second was also thought to be white and around 5ft 8ins tall. Both

men were wearing dark clothing. They fled through a side door onto Street Lane towards Moortown Corner.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det Con Paul Booth at Stainbeck CID via 101 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously and in confidence, on 0800 555111.
