Leeds attraction general manager is tourism industry high-flier

Amy Thornton.

Amy Thornton.

The general manager of a Yorkshire visitor attraction is celebrating after being recognised as one of the best in her business.

Amy Thornton, from the Stockeld Park attraction near Wetherby, Leeds, was given a highly commended prize in the ‘above and beyond the call of duty’ category of this year’s Hudson’s Heritage Awards.

Taking place for the second time, the awards were organised by publisher Hudson’s Media and promote excellence in the UK’s tourist trade.

Ben Tagg, from Hudson’s Media, said: “Despite the challenging economic climate we received a fantastic response from the industry, with all our winners and nominees reflecting the amazing work being done in our heritage leisure industry.

“The awards celebrate the very best of the excellent heritage destinations found in the UK and we were delighted to reward Amy for her creativity, commitment and enthusiasm.”

Amy has been general manager at Stockeld Park for five years. For more details on the attraction, visit: www.stockeldpark.co.uk
