The 33-year-old chartered accountant, from Garforth, has taken on the persona of the former wrestler and bodyguard for an entire week – complete with his catchphrases "I pity the fool" "Stop that jibba-jabba" and "I ain't gettin' on no plane".

Mr T (real name Laurence Tureaud) is most famous for his roles as B. A. Baracus in the 1980s hit show, The A-Team.

Mr T can usually be spotted donning a mohawk and large amounts of gold jewellery.

Chris was inspired to don the fancy dress to help the charity after the unexpected loss of his mother to cancer last year.

He said: "My mother fought kidney cancer in 2008 and we were all relieved in May this year when she received the all clear.

"Sadly, it turned out not to be true and she was called in again and given three to six months to live. She didn't even make it past two months."

Chris thought long and hard about a fundraising activity that he could complete alongside his duties at work and helping his pregnant wife look after their five daughters.

His workmates at the Dr Oetker base in Colton have now got used to their respectable colleague dressed as the 80s icon with his newfound bling in tow.

He said: "I'm Mr T 24 hours a day for seven days. This means going to work in a white vest, gold jewellery, big shades and growing full shaggy sideburns and a goatee beard."

"Mr T was my childhood hero and he has had his battle with cancer too."

Simon Moran, the charity's volunteer manager for Leeds, said: "Chris is a very motivated fundraiser with a very original idea. I think it's brilliant. I hope everyone will get behind him, as it'll take a lot of courage to walk into some of his day-to-day situations dressed like this."
