Leeds: £16,000 boost is music to hospice staff's ears
Leeds office workers have raised more than £16,000 to help children with life-limiting illnesses.
The city office of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) raked in the money for Martin House Children's Hospice at Boston Spa.

It will be spent on providing music therapy for youngsters and their families.
The hospice has been the chosen charity of Leeds PwC for the last two years.

In the past 12 months, staff staged a series of fundraising events
including a shopping extravaganza at House of Fraser, a cake competition and entered a team to run the Leeds 10k.

Other events, such as a monthly Dress Down Day, also helped boost funds.

Jo Goff, senior manager and chairman of the charities committee at PwC in Leeds, said: "We're very proud to be able to present Martin House with such a substantial amount of money. It's due to the generosity of the PwC staff in Leeds and the tireless fundraising by our charities committee."
Julie Henderson, fundraiser at Martin House, said:"We are immensely grateful to PwC; we've been the chosen charity for the last two years and formed a great relationship with them.
"Their very kind donation goes towards the 4.2m a year we need to raise to keep Martin House running.
"Music therapy is one of the additional and very worthwhile services we offer, as it gives such a lot of fun and enjoyment to the children and their families during their stays with us."
