Learner driver in city centre smash
A LEARNER driver and instructor are believed to have been injured in a smash in Wakefield.
A car and a van were invovled in the smash at about noon today
Police closed Batley Road shortly after the incident, near to The Red Lion pub, in which driving instructor and a learner driver are thought to have been injured.
Firefighters cut the roof off a silver Skoda Fabia before two people were freed from the vehicle and taken to Pinderfields hospital.
Police were diverting traffic down Alverthorpe Road.
