Laughing Jesus will be hanging around church

A LEEDS church is to stage an exhibition showing Jesus in an unfamiliar light.

Jesus Laughing, at Chapel Allerton Methodist Church, will feature work by artists from developing countries.

The project was started in 2001 by two Australian businessmen who commissioned pictures of a laughing Jesus to contrast with more traditional images.

Angela Britton from the church said: "We hope the show will interest a huge cross section of people."

The event will run from May 3 to 5, noon to 7pm and on May 10, 10am to 2pm. Entry is free and donations are invited for Vision Aid Overseas.
