Last farewells to tragic Leeds schoolgirl

FAMILY and friends gathered together to lay to rest schoolgirl Hannah Hudson who was knocked down and killed on her way to school.

The 12-year-old's funeral at St Paul's Church in Morley yesterday was attended by around 200 mourners.

Morley High School pupil Hannah was struck by a car and killed on Britannia Road, Morley close to her home on June 15.

A three-car cortege arrived at the service, led by the car carrying Hannah's pink coffin.

Flowers were arranged to spell out 'Sister', 'Daughter' and 'Hannah' in the lead car.

Tributes from Hannah's sister Courtney, 10, and brother Caleb, eight, read: "To our lovely sister Hannah. We will miss you loads, never forgotten and always in our hearts. Love you."

Another from Hannah's mum Toni said: "To 'our Hannah' forever in our hearts, you're up with the other angels now, miss you loads, lots of love mum and Dave."

The service was led by Reverend Margaret Dye, team rector, Rev Nick Heaton, team vicar and Rev Stephen Dye, chaplain of St George's Crypt, Leeds.

Hannah died yards from her home when she was hit by the car at 8.10am. She sustained multiple fatal injuries.

Two men aged 25 and 21, were arrested over Hannah's death and released on bail pending further inquiries.
