Labour leader Ed Miliband visited a housing development in Pudsey as he highlighted the party’s commitment to build 200,000 homes a year by 2020.

“I think its one of the biggest priorities for the next Government because unless we tackle the housing challenge we are not going to solve the cost of living crisis I’ve been talking about,” he said.

Mr Miliband visited the David Wilson Homes site with Jamie Hanley, the party’s candidate for the Pudsey constituency at next year’s General Election.

Ian Ruthven, managing director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West, said: “It was fantastic to welcome Ed Miliband to West Yorkshire and give him a tour of one of our popular developments and talk about our plans for housebuilding in Yorkshire over the next 12 months.”
