Knottingley: Arrest after fatal bike smash

A BIKER died after a collision with a BMW car in Knottingley.

The 53-year-old Pontefract man’s motorbike collided with a BMW 3 Series car on the A645 Pontefract/Knottingley Road just after 5.30am on January 26

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the BMW, a 33 year old woman, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving

Police are appealing for witnesses.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Sgt Carole Clayton at the Major Collision Enquiry Team on 101.
