A man who fell in a ditch and became trapped for two hours in freezing temperatures was rescued by firefighters.
Police on patrol in Knottingley on Monday night were alerted by a member of the public who heard of groaning coming from a six-foot-deep ditch near Hazel Road.
The man, who suffered cuts and bruises, was taken to hospital.
