Kippax man gets set for 100,000 steps charity challenge
Kippax man Bryan Higgins is to walk 100,000 footsteps for charity in 24 hours.
The 31-year-old will start his challenge around his community at 10am at Kippax Co-op, High Street, on Wednesday, December 9
He will finshed 25 hours later at 10am on Thursday, December 10.
He will take a 20-minute rest break every two hours to stretch out and rehydrate. And the steps will all add up to 62 miles.
Mr Higgins, said: "I was inspired to take up this challenge when I was watching an old episode of Record Breakers in which the late Roy Castle attempted to dance one million taps in less than 24 hours for charity.
"I thought it would be a good idea to do something similar and being a supporter of The Roy Castle Cancer Foundation, a third of the funds raised would go to that charity."
He said all funds raised will be split between Viva! (Vegetarians International Voice for Animals), The Roy Castle Cancer Foundation and Christian Aid.
