A ring identical to Kate Middleton’s engagement ring was among £40,000 worth of jewellery stolen in a burglary in Leeds.
Thieves got into a locked garage in the back garden of a house in Stanningley Road, Armley, by removing roof tiles some time between January 17 and January 31.
Police said the house was let to tenants but used by the owner for storage.
A large amount of jewellery was taken including a large gold, diamond and sapphire ring, said to be identical to the one given by Prince William to the Duchess of Cambridge on their engagement, but with a light blue sapphire.
Also stolen were two limited edition Michael Schumacher Omega watches – one with a rare chequered flag face and the other with a black face – and a Rolex Submariner watch along with gold chains, pendants, bracelets and rings.
Detectives want to hear from anyone who has been offered these distinctive items of jewellery for sale or anyone with any information that could assist the investigation.
Call Det Con Lee Swift at North West Leeds CID via 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
