Justin Case you ever run into Barb Dwyer...

Next time you give someone your name or sign a cheque spare a thought for Mary Christmas, Barb Dwyer and Justin Case.

Yes, these are all real names and form part of a new study of the "most bizarre names" in Britain published today.

Other unfortunate monikers compiled for the website TheBabyWebsite.com include Paige Turner, Chris Cross, Hazel Nutt and even Terry Bull.

The poll was conducted by searching names registered with phone numbers and names posted on the world wide web.

The survey also uncovered Tim Burr, a speed-freak called Max Power and a man called Doug Hole.

Teresa Green, Helen Back, Lee King, Jo King and Ray Gunn also cropped up.

In the US, researchers discovered Anna Prentice, Annette Curtain, Bill Board and Carrie Oakey.

A string of people also had names linked to their professions including Dr Leslie Doctor, and Dr Thoulton Surgeon, a vet in Connecticut, Dr Payne, a plastic surgeon in Sandusky, Ohio, Les Plack, a dentist in San Francisco, and Priti Manek, a doctor in Florida.

There was also a Dr Sumey in Fairmont.

A spokesman for the website said: "It is not a case of us advising, it is really just us pointing out that sometimes what seems to be quirky and funny can in later life prove quite embarrassing."

One man on the list, Stan Still, 76, from Cirencester, Gloucestershire, told The Sun he had suffered ridicule all his life.

"My name has been a blooming millstone around my neck," he said.
