Jayne Dawson: Award triumph for YEP features editor
Yorkshire Evening Post writer Jayne Dawson has been named Feature Writer of the Year at the NUJ Regional Press Awards 2010.
Jayne, who is the YEP features editor, beat entrants from newspapers across the country to take the title at a ceremony in London.

Her winning articles included a series of features on the impact of World War Two on the city of Leeds which the judges said was "an astonishing piece of work".

Other articles described Jayne's childhood growing up in Leeds, and told the story of the city's increasing affluence during the boom years of the Noughties.
Judges said Jayne wrote about all these subjects with fluidity and style.
YEP health reporter Katie Baldwin was commended in the Specialist Writer category and Mark Bickerdike was commended in both the
Photographer of the Year and Sports Photographer of the Year categories.
Rod McPhee was shortlisted in the Columnist of the Year category.
