Jane Tomlinson Appeal: Istanbul to Leeds to be family affair UPDATED
A charity cycle ride from Istanbul to Leeds is set to be a real family affair.
Mike and Rebecca Tomlinson – widower and daughter of fundraiser Jane – yesterday announced plans for the 2,500 mile.
Now, it can be revealed that Jane's son Steven, 13, will also be on the ride.
The family will also be joined by Mike's brother-in-law John Miller, nephew and niece Jack, 14, and Laurie, 11, and friend Stuart Hinde with daughters Holly, 13, and Chloe, 11. Steven, Chloe, Laurie and Holly will join Stuart and John on the back of two tandems.
Setting off on July 25, the team will travel through 12 countries, arriving home in Leeds on August 30.
They will be raising money for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, launched Jane before she died of cancer in 2007. During a seven year battle with the disease, the mum-of-three from Rothwell, Leeds, raised 1.5m for charities by completing a series of endurance challenges.
