A man flew into a rage after receiving a text from his partner confessing she had kissed another man, a court heard.
Daniel Millard stormed round to the home of Heidi Collinson on Hawkshead Crescent, Seacroft, Leeds and began threatening her, Joanne Butler-Savage, prosecuting, told Leeds Crown Court.
After summoning another woman to the house, he went for her and pulled two doors off their hinges, threw three chairs and overturned a table.
He broke off two of the table’s legs and threw one of the doors at his partner, missing her.
He then threatened her with a knife and said no one would leave until he did, but at that stage he was arrested by police.
He told officers he had been at a funeral and was having drinks at the wake when he kept getting text messages from his partner and ignoring them.
Then she sent the text about the kiss and he “saw red”.
Craig Sutcliffe, for Millard, said he was in an emotional state over the death of his friend and was devastated to receive that text message.
Millard, 24 of Millshaw Road, Leeds, was jailed for nine months after he admitted affray and criminal damage.
