An investigation has been launched into claims a young woman was raped in Leeds city centre.
West Yorkshire Police said it received reports that a 19-year-old was assaulted in the early hours of Friday. (October 11)
It is currently unclear where the alleged attack took place and officers are now talking to the victim to establish the circumstances.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Police in Leeds are investigating a report of a serious sexual assault believed to have occured in the early hours of this morning.
“Detectives are currently conducting enquiries after Police were contacted at about 4.35am this morning by a caller who reported a 19-year-old woman had been subject to a serious sexual assault.
“Specially trained officers are working with the victim today to establish more precise details about what took place.”
