International Women's Day 2010: Ruby Wax visits Leeds

Ruby was "wax"-ing lyrical in her new role running management workshops after giving a talk to more than 150 businesswomen in Leeds.

TV star Ruby Wax was at a Forward Ladies event at The Metropole Hotel in Leeds to mark International Women's Day.

She gave a talk about the powerful role communication plays in building successful businesses.

She said: "We can all talk at each other but rapport means reading under the radar, below the words, to understand what people really mean and being transparent enough for them to understand you."

Ruby, who became a household name as a comedian, has changed direction after completing an MSc in psychotherapy and a course in neuroscience.

She now runs management workshops for business leaders aimed at helping them improve communication with their clients and colleagues.

Also at the event was motivational speaker Tee Dobinson and Sophi Tranchell, managing director of fair trade chocolate company, Divine.
