An elderly passenger died when the bus she was travelling on stopped suddenly to avoid a collision.
The 90-year-old suffered head injuries and a suspected “medical episode” when she was thrown from her seat as the single-decker vehicle travelled along Beverley Rise towards Grove Road in Ilkley yesterday.
The incident happened at 1.25pm when the bus braked suddenly to prevent a crash with a Renault Laguna that was pulling out of a driveway.
The woman was taken to hospital but died a short time later.
Police are appealing for any witnesses. Call the major collision enquiry team on 101.
