Hundreds complete Leeds City Museum interactive quest

Hundreds of people have now taken part in Leeds City Museum’s interactive treasure trail, which lets users hunt through the city centre for precious artefacts using social media.

The Treasured! 2012 Treasure Dash was created by Leeds-based digital agency Branded3 and forms part of the museum’s current exhibition, which is called Treasured! Smuggled? Stolen? Saved?.

The trail takes users on a timed race through Leeds to ‘collect’ codewords on six artefacts, with the first clue available at www.treasured2012.co.uk.

The fastest time recorded so far is 44 minutes and 58 seconds, with Paralympics silver medallist Claire Cashmore among those who have taken part.

After six months, the treasure hunter that has achieved the shortest time will win concert tickets.

Andrew Machin, head of design for Branded3, said: “Creating a city-wide treasure hunt seemed a perfect fit with the exhibition’s theme, and a unique way to engage participants and encourage visitors.”
