Leeds MP Greg Mulholland met campaigners to celebrate a decade of work to save the region’s traditional community pubs.
The politician was at the Shoulder of Mutton in Kirkby Overblow.
The Pub is the Hub campaign – which is marking its 10 year anniversary – has helped the pub’s licensees Kate and David Deacon to open up a village shop on the site. The group has recently launched a community project with the help of a £150,000 Government boost.
Mr Mulholland said: “It was great to see the excellent work done by Pub is The Hub in action and the new innovative ways pubs, such as the Shoulder of Mutton, are seeking to secure their businesses, whilst providing another vital service to the local community.”
