Horsforth School receives glowing Ofsted report
Pupils and staff at Horsforth School were celebrating after receiving praise from Ofsted inspectors.

The two-day inspection took place in September and resulted in 25 out of 47 areas of the school being graded as "outstanding".
Students were praised for exemplary behaviour, staff were recognised for their outstanding teaching and Inspectors highlighted that parents should be proud of the community school with a "family" atmosphere.

Headteacher Steve Jex said "I am sure that all current and prospective parents will be particularly delighted to note that care, guidance and support at our school has gained the highest accolade of outstanding.
"The personal development of our students has also been recognised as outstanding, as has student performance in Key Stages 3 and 4.

"In fact, Ofsted commended us on our outstanding results in Years 9 and 11 and felt that a strong focus of our school was an encouragement of the love of learning. I am very proud of the links which we have developed with the wider community and, indeed, the observation by Ofsted that our students demonstrate a high level of respect for their peers and others."

The report said that the school offered a calm, safe and happy environment in which students feel valued and enjoy their education.
It also praised the "outstanding" teaching and learning and the results attained by students at the end of years nine and 10.
The report added that the school's strong focus is encouraging students to love learning and that the parents are supportive of the school and hold it in very high regard.
