Horsforth's Froebelian School raises thousands for charity
Pupils from Horsforth's Froebelian School have raised thousands of pounds for the Children's Heart Surgery Fund, based at the Yorkshire Heart Centre in Leeds General Infirmary.
The school handed over a cheque for 8,500 to Clive Gott, guest speaker at the school's Speech Day and Prize Presentation.
The money has been raised over the last eight months by the 183 pupils at the school, aged between three and 11.
At Easter, every child was sent home with a pound coin and a challenge to make more money with it. Using enterprising skills such as car washing, baking or raffles, the children raised 2,600.
Year Six pupils also raised more than 1,600 by taking part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge where students and staff walked 28 miles across the Yorkshire Dales climbing the peaks of Pen Y Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in three days.
