Holden adds glamour to Ascot SLIDESHOW
Actress Amanda Holden brought a touch of glamour to Royal Ascot today as the Queen made a triumphant entrance to the world famous race meeting.
The Britain's Got Talent judge attracted a crowd of race-goers eager for photographs and autographs when she arrived.
Holden looked stunning in a figure-hugging red dress by Fendi and a matching hat of ostrich feathers by young designer Jane Marcantonio.
The five-day Berkshire meet is as much a social occasion as an event for betting punters.
Every year the Queen and members of the Royal Family join the thousands of fans to cheer on the jockeys and horses as they thunder past.
The actress said she did not follow the form of horses but used the tried and tested methods of picking a name she liked.
She said: "I go by the name. If I get lucky then I get lucky. If I don't I've still had a good time.
"To be honest I love the social occasion more than anything else. I like a glass of champagne and looking at all the lovely hats and seeing the men in their top hats and tails."
As the actress described her outfit she added a cheeky joke saying: "My underwear is by Marks & Spencer before you ask."
She added: "I'm coming today because I can't come on Thursday when it's Ladies' Day so it's Ladies' Day for me now."
She made an amusing dig at fellow Britain's Got Talent judge Simon Cowell suggesting he was in charge of herself and the show's other judge Piers Morgan.
She said: "Piers is coming tomorrow, Simon likes to split us up, he's like a school teacher."
The royal family arrived at Ascot in their traditional carriage procession around the course.
The party looked relaxed as they passed race-goers who waved and cheered.
The Queen was dressed in a golden yellow and white silk dress by Stuart Parvin, a matching linen jacket, and hat by Rachel Trevor-Morgan.
She sat next to the Duke of Edinburgh and opposite the Duke of York and Lord Vestey.
They were followed by the Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall, Princess Beatrice and Christopher Rhys-Jones, the father of the Countess of Wessex.
The Duchess wore a large cream coloured Philip Treacy hat, a Vivienne Westwood green silk dress and a champagne coloured coat.
All the men wore morning suits and top hats.
