Harrogate: Thieves steal antiques worth over £7,000
A number of antiques worth several thousand pounds have been stolen from a house in Harrogate in what is believed to be a "well-planned" theft.
North Yorkshire Police said the burglary, in the Leeds Road area, happened between 9pm and midnight on January 25 while the residents of the property were at home.

The stolen items included valuable clocks, ornaments, cutlery, crockery and jewellery.

Police said they believed the theft was well-planned due to the way in which the burglars entered the property and the items that they stole.

The items stolen were described as two walnut clocks, each valued at several thousand pounds; dessert plates in the Rockingham style; a walnut inkwell; bronze candlesticks; various decorative snuff and knife boxes; a lady's workbox; a canteen of cutlery; a condiment set; a boxed set of tea knives; a boxed set of coffee spoons; items of antique jewellery and a set of 18 china plates.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious at the time of the burglary, or who has any information relating to the whereabouts of any of the stolen items, is asked to contact Detective Constable Scott Nugent at Harrogate CID on 0845 6060247.
