Harrogate: Appeal after biker is killed

Library picture

Library picture

A motorcyclist has died following a collision between Harrogate and Skipton over the weekend.

The biker, who is believed to be in his 60’s, was travelling towards Harrogate when he came off his bike as he travelled behind a silver Mercedes which had stopped behind a blue Ford Focus waiting to turn right near the Black Bull Hotel, Felliscliffe, at the junction of Constable Ridge Road.

The rider, who has not been formally named, was struck by a Land Rover Freelander travelling in the opposite direction on the A59.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision on Saturday (March 16) and anyone who saw the motorcyclist or any of the vehicles - the Land Rover, Ford Focus or Mercedes - travelling along the A59 prior to the incident just before 11am.

Anyone with information should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
