Shillito, of Hunters Court, Halton, admitted possessing the drug

with intent to supply but stated that he bought the cocaine to give to his friends and was not going to sell it or take any money for it.

Leeds Crown Court heard that when he was caught, Shillito tried to barge past the doormen and had to be restrained by three of them.

A search of him uncovered 10 small bags of cocaine worth 266.40 and a further six bags of the drug worth 161.60.

Shillito, who has recently become a father and is self-employed, was told he would normally be jailed for the offence.

Sentencing him Judge Rodney Grant said: "It's a very serious matter to supply or have in your possession drugs albeit in your case it is accepted it was not for profit, it was for distribution among your friends. It is still extremely serious."

Shillito was given a 51-week prison sentence suspended for two years.

He was ordered to do a suspended sentence supervision order for two years and 200 hours unpaid work for the community.
