Taking to two wheels to explore Yorkshire on your bike has never been so popular, so why not join in and share your cycling snaps with us?
The Yorkshire Evening Post has been urging readers to get cycling in the months building up to the Tour de France Grand Depart from Yorkshire on July 5 and 6, and now we want you to show us how you’re embracing the spirit of Le Tour.
Through our interactive On Yer Bike! campaign we are encouraging readers to send in pictures of them getting out and about on two wheels in a bid to both celebrate the world’s greatest cycle race and help inspire others to start cycling.
Whether you’re out exploring the Dales with your family and friends, commuting to work, taking part in a charity ride, cycling in fancy dress or simply nipping out on the bike to get some fresh air, we want to hear from you.
We will publish readers’ cycling pictures on our dedicated On Yer Bike! page every Tuesday and online until Le Tour rolls into action from Leeds’ Headrow for the start of the Leeds to Harrogate stage one on July 5.
Nicola Furbisher, YEP managing editor, said: “Yorkshire is blessed with some of the country’s best cycling roads and people across the county are embracing all that the world-famous Tour has to offer, so what better time to get on your bike, take some cycling snaps and share in the excitement with us?”
To get involved send in your pictures, with a note telling us your name, age, where you are from and where your On Yer Bike! snap was taken, by emailing our Tour reporter at firstname.lastname@example.org, tweeting @leedsnews using the #onyerbike hashtag or by posting on our www.facebook.com/yep.newspaper Facebook page.
