TWENTY-FIVE firefightes were involved in tackling a blaze at a metal work company in Leeds in the early hours of today.

Fire broke out in two kilns at Pennine Castings, on Modder Avenue, Armley, at about 4am.

Four fire engines from Leeds, Hunslet and Stanningley fire stations were called to the scene, along with an aerial appliance.

Crews spent more than two hours dealing with the incident.

Although the fire spread to the roof, there was not major damage to the building, the fire service said.
