Family donates toys to youngsters at Leeds hospital

A KIND couple from Ossett have delivered toys to the Leeds hospital that cared for their 18-month-old son.

Emma and Phil McDonald’s youngest child Freddie was six months old when he was diagnosed with a chronic liver disease called Alagille Syndrome.

Phil’s sister Lynsey McDonald, 37, and cousin Chloe Haigh, 27, raised £1,600 to pay for the toys for youngsters at Leeds General Infirmary’s liver unit, where Freddie is a patient.

Emma, 34, said: “Seeing the children’s faces light up was amazing.”
