Face of robber who swiped phone and searched victim

SOUGHT: A police e-fit of the robber.

SOUGHT: A police e-fit of the robber.

Police looking for a robber who snatched a mobile phone from his victim before escaping in a car have issued this e-fit image.

The victim was walking along Hostingley Lane, in Middlestown, Wakefield, towards Dewsbury when a car – believed to be a silver BMW – containing a man and a woman pulled up alongside him.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: “A man got out and asked him if he had a phone for him.

“The victim pulled out his mobile phone which was snatched out of his hand by the suspect.

“He then searched the victim for money before getting back into the car and driving off in the Horbury Bridge direction.”

The incident happened at about 2.30pm on Tuesday, December 18, but police have now appealed for information after drawing up the artist’s impression of the suspect.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Det Con Kirsty Lowe at Wakefield district CID on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
