The countdown to the jam-packed Live at Leeds music festival is on – and the YEP is offering music fans an extra special prize.

We’ve teamed up with the festival organisers for a brand new competition.

Lucky winners could bag themselves two VIP tickets for Live at Leeds and a golden pass – with queue jump and access to the aftershow party.

The three-day festival, which runs from Friday, May 2 to Monday, May 5, will see 200 bands performing to 15,000 music fans across 20 venues.

Live at Leeds spokesman, Simon Fogal, said: “Live at Leeds is just a few days away now and we are really pleased to have such a great competition for the Yorkshire Evening Post.”

Also up for grabs in our competition are two pairs of Dr Martens, £100 to spend at Red’s BBQ during the Live at Leeds weekend, CD albums from Courtney Barnett, Melt Yourself Down, Then Thickens, Dum Dum Girls and Neurosis, vinyl albums by I Like Trains, Cheatahs and Melt Yourself Down and a 7” single by Say Lou Lou, plus a Live at Leeds tote bag.

Simon added: “Once again the bands playing the festival and weekend have been very kind by supplying records.

“Big thanks to Reds BBQ for supplying an unbelievable food package.

“Just remember to leave the VIP bar and see some great bands!”

Top names for the festival include Frank Turner, The Sunshine Underground, Bipolar Sunshine, Pulled Apart by Horses, Clean Bandit, Ella Eyre, ¡Forward Russia!, I Like Trains, The Mexanines, George Ezra, King Charles, Kodaline, Nina Nesbitt, Los Campesinos and Happy Daggers.

This year, a whole host of new venues will be taking part, including Leeds Town Hall, The Hi-Fi Club, Belgrave Music Hall and Oporto.

The wristband collection point for Live at Leeds, which is now in its eighth year, will be at Leeds’ First Direct Arena, and opens at 10am.
