England and South Africa charity cricket bats stolen from Leeds auction

A thief stole two signed bats from a Leeds cricket club’s charity auction.

The pair of distinctive bats- one signed by the England team and the other by the South African team- are valued at £275 each.

They had been left in a marquee at Guiseley Cricket Club, in Otley Road, before the auction was due to take place.

An opportunist thief then made off with them some time between 12.30pm and 9pm on July 31.

Anyone who has been offered the bats for sale or who has any information is asked to contact PC 1958 Alex Perrow of the Aireborough and Wharfedale Neighbourhood Policing Team on 01274 471458 or via 101, or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously and in confidence, on 0800 555 111.
