Emmerdale star Roxanne Pallett tipped for Dancing on Ice success
Former Emmerdale star Roxanne Pallett is being tipped as one to watch on the new series of TV's Dancing on Ice.
Bookmakers William Hill make 26-year-old Roxanne 6-1 third favourite to win the celebrity skating competition.
Punters considering a wager might think again, however, when they hear she holds this year's record for the most falls in one training session – a bruising 14. Leeds-born rugby league legend Ellery Hanley, meanwhile, is a 12-1 shot to take the prize.
Hanley, 47, is unfazed by the prospect of coming up against the show's
straight-talking judging panel.
He said: "I am used to being verbally abused by 40,000 people every single week, so to hear one person say something they are not happy about will not bother me in the slightest."
Other famous names taking part in the contest include model Melinda Messenger, ex-footballer Graeme Le Saux and singer Ray Quinn.
Dancing on Ice returns to ITV1 on Sunday at 7pm.
* The Ice Cube ice rink opens in Millennium Square in Leeds on Saturday, January 17.
The rink will be in place until March 8.
