DOZENS of volunteers turned out to help with a much-loved Easter tradition at the weekend.

The cross on Otley Chevin was put up on Saturday, April 5. It was first installed in 1969 and has since become a well-known sight in the area.

The impressive cross takes pride of place at Surprise View, above Otley, and stays there for four weeks throughout the Easter celebrations.

It was originally the brainchild of the Otley Council of Christian Churches.
