East Leeds salon is sounding safe-tan message

An east Leeds salon is raising money to combat skin cancer by helping sun-worshippers get a safe tan.

Storm Hair Design on Station Road in Scholes is taking part in Safe Tan Summer and donating a proportion of takings from spray tans to the British Skin Foundation's skin cancer appeal.

Click here for a full run down of the 20 YEP community sites launched around Leeds to date.

On four Saturdays in August, the salon will host Tan-A-Thons and will give 25 per cent of the cost of full body tans to the appeal.

In the last 30 years, cases of melanoma – the deadliest form of skin cancer –- have quadrupled in men and tripled in women.

The Tan-A-Thons start on August 8 and to book, call (0113) 2733219.
