More than a million square feet of office space, a supermarket and a hotel could be added to the Thorpe Park business park if plans are approved by Leeds City Council.

Scarborough Development Group (SDG) has submitted an outline planning application for a mixed use development, consisting of shops, offices, leisure space, restaurants and bars.

To date, just under 600,000 sq ft of business space has been built at Thorpe Park in east Leeds, with the new application adding 1.2m sq ft of offices and a 130,000 sq ft food store.

There will also be up to 177,000 sq ft of leisure space, including a hotel and sports facilities, 33,000 sq ft of cafes, bars and restaurants and 100,000 sq ft of additional retail.

An application has also been submitted for the Manston Lane Link Road (MLLR) which will link existing communities in east Leeds and the Manston Lane industrial area to Thorpe Park’s junction with the M1.

The proposed development will create 10,500 jobs, including 6,500 employment opportunities for people in Leeds.
