And now, the talents of superstar dad David Garbutt have been officially recognised – by a national sauce company.
David, 47, of Barwick-in-Elmet, has been named 2009 Northern Dad of the Year by Daddies Sauce.
He was nominated by daughter Molly, 10, who described him as "dedicated and devoted" in her entry.
The youngster, a pupil at Barwick-in-Elmet Primary School, also impressed the judges by telling them: "he takes me to school, makes my tea, helps me with my homework, is always there for me and still has time to be a fireman."
David, who also has a son Harry, 13, said: "I don't feel like I do anything out of the ordinary. I'm just a normal dad.
"But they must think I'm special so it's a real honour. Molly filled in the form but the kids entered the competition together really.
"I had no idea they were doing it. It doesn't surprise me that they entered, but it did surprise me that they won."
For his prize, David – a firefighter at Moortown fire station for almost 20 years – received a special supply of Daddies Sauce with his face on the iconic bottle, as well as a family day out with wife Lesley, 42, and the kids at Alton Towers.
