Drive-by flasher: One victim felt ‘violated’

Adam Hartshorne.

Adam Hartshorne.

A drive-by flasher who exposed himself to young women from his car has been placed on the sex offenders’ register for five years.

Fleeting flasher Adam Hartshorne, 31, targeted two teenage joggers, a group of women outside a nightclub and a lone woman during his perverted patrol.

Wakefield Magistrates Court heard how Hartshorne, of Rose Mount Drive, Normanton blamed his behaviour on his “ridiculous” use of cannabis.

One of the victims, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told the court she felt “dirty” and “violated” after Hartshorne flashed her.

Richard Ogden, prosecuting, said Hartshorne first struck on June 20 when he accosted two 17-year-old joggers, leaving them shocked. He was arrested on August 13 shortly after exposing himself to a lone woman on Sugar Lane in Belle Vue. Hartshorne pleaded guilty to three offences of exposure and one of possession of cannabis. He was sentenced to a three-year community order, and must pay £85 costs.
