Devoted dog owner Lesley Keeley has always had a love of pugs.

So much so that she has launched her very own pug parties and pug meet-ups to help give advice to owners of the pampered pooches.

Lesley, 23, from Colton, Leeds, held her first pug-meet up at Temple Newsam last month which attracted more than 50 owners and 80 pugs from across the north of the country.

Pug breeder Lesley plays mum to pesky pups three-year-old Lola, two-year-old Bruno and four-year-old Frazer who suffers from health problems and only has one eye.

She is now hoping to use her experiences and share her tips about the cute canines with other owners.

Lesley said: “We could spend hours talking about how we love pugs and the naughty things they do but there is no other place where you can sit and talk about it for hours on end.

“Pugs can be quite stubborn with behaviour training so when you go online a lot of it is centred around dogs and not pugs specifically.”

She got the idea to start the meetings after setting up her own pug page on social networking site Facebook.

After growing demand Lesley decided to launch her annual pug meetings to talk about all things pug.

The meetings also allow pug enthusiasts to swap tips and offer advice to prospective owners.

Lesley will hold her second pug meet-up next month with a special spooky theme.

Pooches and their owners are being invited to dress up in Halloween costumes for the meeting at Temple Newsam next month.

She added: “A lot of people look at them and think that pugs are fat and lazy but it is the complete opposite. They are such excitable little things.”

Lesley also organises pug parties to allow owners to try out new accessories for their cute canines.

She added: “There’s nothing better than having a job with something you are passionate about.”
