A Leeds dental practice is brushing up well to give the Tour de France a bright yellow welcome this summer.
Primley Park Dentistry, which is a stone’s throw from the stage one route as it passes along Harrogate Road, Alwoodley, has pledged to get in the spirit of the Le Tour by joining in with our Wear it Yellow Day on July 3.
Staff will don yellow outfits on the day, while yellow food and dentistry equipment will be available and for every patient who is treated on July 3 that wears a yellow item of clothing, the practice will donate £5 to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Primley Park’s colourful pledge comes as we encourage readers to send in their pictures and stories of them embracing the yellow theme of the Tour de France through our multimedia #yellowyorkshire campaign.
Joanna Hobson, practice business manager at Primley Park, said: “I think it’s fantastic for Yorkshire that the Tour de France is coming. I just love the fact that we are painting the county yellow for the day. Let’s get everybody involved.”
The private practice, which has been based in Alwoodley for 30 years, has 2,500 patients on its books and is keen to promote cycling as part of a healthy lifestyle.
A number of staff are keen riders, while the practice has recently given health-conscious presentations at events including Otley Science Fair.
Ms Hobson added: “The support for the Tour de France is just fantastic, there is so much. People are definitely getting into the spirit of it.”
We are encouraging businesses, schools and residents to sign up to our Wear it Yellow Day on July 3. All we ask is that individuals who wear yellow on the day donate £1 to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Email email@example.com to pledge your involvement and we will add you to our roll of honour.
