Cool time with Iggy!
IGGY Pop walks on stage. Jeans, no top. It's the best gig of the year.
Harewood House looks fantastic.
There might only be a few thousand people around but everyone is on their feet.
Iggy and the Stooges – including the legendary Mike Watt from the Minutemen rock.
They don't play Lust for Life or The Passenger but who cares.
We get two versions of I Wanna be Your Dog, watch Iggy 'enjoy himself' on stage with the bass amp and see him fling his scrawny stuff from one end of the stage to another non-stop for over an hour.
Iggy repeatedly dives into the crowd, but never stops singing and when he invites the crowd to join him on stage for Cool Time, hundreds oblige.
It's crazy but strangely the highpoint of the gig.
You have to feel for the security guards and it takes five minutes to eventually clear the stage.
But it's all good hearted.
And Iggy gracefully thanks the Harewood House ballet.
They play a few tracks from their new album The Weirdness, including Idea of Fun, which sounds like classic Stooges.
It's a hard job warming the crowd up for Iggy and the Stooges but Scottish indie rockers Idlewild just about managed it.
Before them it was Leeds's own The Sunshine Underground who got the crowd on their feet with Borders, The Way It Is and Raise the Alarm.
The day's line-up included Scotland's Sons and Daughters, and they almost steal the show even though they play to just a few hundred people.
Part indie, part country, part punk they play tracks from The Repulsion Box and the fabulous Love the Cup.
But most of their songs are from a new album and sound great.
And singer Adele Bethel rocks in a Blondie frock.
It's a fantastic line-up, including Mercury Music Award nominated The Young Knives, who, like The Sunshine Underground, just played the Leeds Festival, which also might account for the less than packed field.
But it's all in aid of a great cause, The Children's Society.
And topping off a great day, backstage keeping the bands happy, was Leeds' best bar Mojo's.
