Comfort and Joy comes to Roundhay
Preparations are now well underway for RoCo Dramatic Society's latest production which is being staged in Roundhay later this month. Click here for more details.
The Society will be staging Comfort and Joy from Thursday, November 22, to Saturday, November 24, in the Memorial Hall at St Andrew's United Reformed Church on Shaftesbury Avenue. (7.30pm)
Comfort and Joy is a comedy written by Mike Harding and is set at Christmas, a time when relatives you hardly ever see and who are now very different from you arrive at your house for the festivities.
No-one receives a present that is at all appropriate. Culinary disasters abound. Long-buried resentments rear their ugly heads as the alcohol flows and tongues are loosened. And the plumbing goes wrong.
Andrea Varnavides, of RoCo Dramatic Society, said: "If any of this reminds you of your typical family Christmas, then you will find Comfort and Joy, Mike Harding's comedy, painfully – but always amusingly – familiar. Until the very end, anyway."
The production is produced by Pete Grocock & Irene McCartney.
* Tickets, priced at 4 adults & 2 children, are available from the box office on (0113) 2933770.
