Staff from two Leeds hotels have raised more than £32,400 for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity as part of a national event.
Workers at Premier Inn’s Arena and Leeds East hotels both took part in the chain’s national charity week, organising a Zumbathon and fun day to help raise the money, with some staff taking a bath in baked beans.
Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, which runs Premier Inn, has pledged to raise £7.5m towards the construction of a new clinical building. The Premier Inn Clinical Building will provide vital in-patient wards and more operating theatres as part of Great Ormnond Street’s plan to replace its oldest clinical buildings.
So far, over £1m has been raised as part of the event.
