A teenage girl was blackmailed into giving money to three girls who had earlier attacked her in a ginnel.
The 14-year-old was walking through a ginnel between Prospect Road and Peaseland Road, Cleckheaton, on her way to school at about 8.45am on Monday when the masked gang walked up to her.
They demanded money and her phone and assaulted her, but ran off empty-handed after the victim’s friend saw what was happening.
At 5.45pm the same day, the girl received a threatening text message, again demanding money.
She handed over £10 after meeting the girls before leaving to tell her mother about the incident.
All three robbers were in their teens and wore black bandanas over their faces.
Kirklees police are appealing for information.
Witnesses or anyone with information should contact Det Con Marie Whitehouse at Kirklees CID via 101.
