Charity and stores to tackle dementia in Leeds

Celebrating the new alliance at the Argos store on The Headrow are, from the left, carer Win Emsley, Peter Ruickbie, from the local Alzheimers Society group, and store manager Dave Warrington.

A charity is celebrating its new link-up which it hopes will enable people with dementia to stay in their own homes for longer.

According to the Alzheimer’s Society, more than one in 10 people currently living with dementia in Leeds will go in to care homes too early due to a lack of support.

Now the charity has teamed up with Argos and Homebase to launch new tips for living well with dementia at home, which cover everything from contacting social services to making everyday life easier.
