Central Leeds: Pensioner seriously ill after being hit by bus

AN ELDERLY man is seriously ill in hospital after being knocked down by a bus in Leeds today. (Oct 18)

The 80-year-old was involved in a collision with a double decker at the junction of Kirkgate and Vicar Lane in the city centre at about 1.35pm.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene and a police cordon was put up while investigations were carried out.

It has since been removed and roads operating as normal.
